I'm really not sure how to feel about this current BSC Poll. I mean I understand how the computer picks the teams and the rankings, but I just can't support it. I guess because I'm a Pac 10 guy I should be happy that we've got 4 teams in the top 25. But 3 of the computers don't even have USC ranked. Oh well... maybe this will be the last year of the mighty "BCS" I'm quite tired of allowing a computer decide who is the best team in the country. Let the game play out as it should... By the teams who deserve to be there. Every division (except the Pac 10 & Big 10) has a conference championship game and it should stay that way. The Big 10 and Pac 10 have their own way of deciding who's the champ. As for every other conference, let them send their champions to a playoff. And since we've seen it done with Division 2 & 3, we all know it can happen.
I think its well overdue. Since the BCS came in to play we've not only been spoiled by the historical schools continued dominace, we've let a computer dictate to us who we will watch on the final collegate bowl of the season. . No one would have expected last years Fiesta Bowl between Oklahoma and Boisie State to be as good of a game as we saw. And maybe if the teams had a playoff system in play, we've might have seen a much better National Championship Game out of better matched teams. Don't think that just because a team goes undefeated they deserve to play in the National Championship Game. But they have earned the chance to play for one against other schools who have qualified. We're used to crowning "World Champions", Baseball, Basketball and other sports. I've always asked myself how can we crown a NFL Team "World Champion" when we really only play Pro Football in the US. Same can be said about the other sports as well. But since we have a chance to crown the National Champion... we should make sure that we've elimniated all other challengers on the way to being Number 1.

Stop Hating On The Pac 10
Im really not sure what boils my blood more. Always trying to defend Pac 10 Football to the rest of the country (especially the ones from the SEC). Or listening to the arguement why there can't be a playoff system in Division 1. But after I saw the lastest poll I've felt my blood again raise the mercury.
Why did they have to demote USC? Not to long ago if you continue to win, you stayed your place or moved up if the guy ahead of you lost. Now a days it seems you have to blow people out by 50 to look like you desrve to stay #1. What ever happened to the "mercy rule"? Most college teams would send their subs in if the game was over by halftime.
All I know is in the aftermath of a GREAT college football weekend the AP Poll decided that USC was no longer fit to remain #1. And why you might ask??? Because they "almost" lose to Washington team that they "should have handled". Look I admit LSU is a good football team and they definately deserve the credit their getting but until they play SC or SC loses, they don't deserve to be ranked higher than SC. I didn't create the AP or the Coaches Poll but I do think you should let things play out before you start changing things up. And give the Huskies some credit for the game they played, in Seattle, in bad weather and with a near capacity stadium. More importantly, give SC their due as well, because unlike almost half of the top 10 this past weekend they won. And just because Washington hasn't had a good team for a few years doesn't mean their a pushover. You can't tell me you knew LSU was going to have a tough go at it vs Tulane. A win is a win. No matter if its by 1 or 21.
I know the Pac 10 doesn't have the "mystique" or "grandieur" or the SEC. Or the 100,000 capacity stadiums of the Big 10. Or a number of other rich tradtions some of the other confrences have. We tend to do things a little different out in the west. We may not go to every game and we may not sellout every seat. But we will stand up and speak out on the in-justice of not being treated fairly by the polls. If the SEC, Big 10, Big 12 or anyone else thinks the Pac 10 is a pushover, than schedule us for your early non-conference games. Yeah!! That's the time most of those "big name schools" go out and schedule "Tijuana Tech." or "We just got a football team U" or "Grandma-mom A&I" so they can build confidence, early wins and get noticed by the Polls for having an umblemished record. Until you stack your schedule with teams your not sure you can always beat, you'll always hear this arguement from me... Let the system play itself out and "Stop Hating on the Pac 10"!
